At a DIY music event a few hours west of Chicago, Lindsey french and I build an outhouse that extracts estrogen from urine. Inside the outhouse structure, we offered a small library of topical readings ranging from Samuel Delany's pee-drinking erotica to a paper on open-source estrogen production by the artist Mary Maggic that helped us greatly in conceiving this piece. Screenprinted on the outhouse's nylon walls are a grouping of anti-androgenic plants: black cohosh, spearmint, white peony. <<
